Dictate anywhere.
Polished text, instantly.
Hold a hotkey in any app. Rewisper records your voice, transcribes it on your machine, and rewrites the rambling out of it — right there, locally. Your audio never leaves your laptop. Pay once, own it forever.
*Raw transcription is ~300-500ms. Cleanup timing varies with hardware.
Raw speech in. Polished prose out.
OS dictation gives you exactly what you said — every "um," every backtrack, every run-on. Rewisper takes that raw transcript and polishes it on your machine: removes filler, fixes grammar, and restructures rambling thought into something you'd actually send.
Four steps. All local.
No API keys. No accounts. No quotas. The entire chain runs on your CPU (and GPU if you have one). Unplug your ethernet cable — it still works.
You decide what "polished" means.
Every cleanup step is a toggle. Want a verbatim transcript? Flip raw mode. Writing a love letter? Turn grammar off and let your voice through. Try it — flip the switches on the left and watch the output on the right.
Everyone else rents. You own this.
Cloud dictation tools charge $12–15/month and send every word you speak to someone else's server. Free OS dictation keeps your voice local but leaves you editing raw transcripts. Rewisper is the third option.

FAQ.
Is it really fully local? What about updates, licensing, telemetry?
The transcription and cleanup pipeline makes zero network calls. The only traffic Rewisper generates is: (1) license validation on first launch, (2) checking for new releases on startup (you can disable this), and (3) a one-time download of the local engines when you first install. Your voice data is never uploaded. We have no analytics SDK, no crash reporter unless you opt in.
How much RAM does this actually use?
With the defaults, expect 5–7GB of RAM while Rewisper is actively transcribing. Between dictations it unloads and sits at ~80MB in the tray. On 8GB machines, a lighter preset is available that fits comfortably under 4GB with a small trade-off in polish quality.
How fast is it?
With automatic cleanup on, Rewisper usually finishes the full pipeline (transcribe → polish → paste) in about 1-1.8 seconds. With cleanup off, raw transcription is usually around 300-500ms. If it's ever slower than typing, something is misconfigured — we'll help you tune it.
What hotkey does it use? Can I change it?
Default is Control + Option + Space (⌃⌥ Space) on macOS, and Ctrl + Alt + Space on Windows. v1 ships with that fixed — custom hotkeys are on the immediate roadmap.
Does it work offline? On a plane?
Yes. After first install, Rewisper never needs the network. Airplane mode is explicitly supported and tested.
What languages?
v1 is English only. More languages are planned for v1.1.
Can I run it on two machines?
Yes. The $69 personal license activates on up to two devices — typically your laptop and your desktop. Team licenses are a separate purchase.

Thirty minutes of practice and dictation becomes faster than typing for most of what you write in a day. The math works.
